MEET OUR TEAM

Deja Williams, Executive Director

Mrs. Williams is a graduate from the University of Georgia with a Masters in Social Work and Graduate Certification in Nonprofit Organizations. Prior to receiving a MSW, Mrs. Williams received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Mrs. Williams has experience working for the nonprofit sector and public sector as a social worker for the Department of Family and Children's Services and a case manager. Mrs. Williams is a former Interstate Compact Case Manager and Kinship Coordinator for DFCS regions 4, 5, and 6. These regions include McDonough-Metro, Athens-Metro, and Macon-Metro areas.  She enjoys crafting, engaging in community service with her sorority (Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.), and spending time with her husband!
 

Fun Fact:
Mrs. Williams is a newly-wed and they LOVE to cruise and watch Georgia Football!

Tequila Womack, CPR Instructor

Tequila Womack has been working in the healthcare Industry for approximately twenty one years. During those years, she has worked in various nursing and social work roles. She and her husband have three beautiful children and they reside in Georgia.  During her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, reading and vacationing. 

Tannica Thomas, Home Study Specialist

Tannica has over 10 years of social services experience. Tannica enjoys working with families to help them find their “Forever Home” and missing pieces. She is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) and has a degree in Psychology. Her long terms plans include pursuing a master’s degree in both Education/Counseling and Social Work in the near future. For fun, she likes to listen to music, write, and spend time with her three beautiful children. Her motto, “Don’t just live life! Live it with the ones that make you feel like life is worth living.” 

Marian Hughes, Home Study Specialist

Marian is excited about joining the Georgia Kinship Project team as a contracted Home Study Writer. Marian has a passion for helping individuals and families reach their goals and fulfill their highest potential. Marian has experience working in a behavioral health center and the Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia. Marian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services/Psychology from Mercer University and MS in Vocational Rehabilitation/Case Management from Fort Valley State University. In her free time, Marian likes listening to several genres of music and watching old movies.

Shana Marshall, Home Study Specialist

Shana has over 14 years of social services experience. Shana enjoys working with families to help them connect the missing pieces. She is a graduate of GCSU and has a degree in Sociology and Psychology. Her long terms plans include pursuing a masters degree in both Business Administration and Social Work in the near future. For fun, she likes to listen to music, write, and spend time with her son. Ms. Marshall is also a publish author. Her motto, helping people connect the dots and out together the missing pieces.

Brittany Harrison, Home Study Specialist
Brittany is thrilled to be apart of Georgia Kinship Project. She has a strong commitment to serving and empowering foster children and families. She received her BA from Fort Valley State University and her MS from Southern New Hampshire University. She has been in case management for going on 9 years and foster care for 5 years. She enjoys long walks down the aisles in Barnes & Nobles and spending time with her friends and family.

Tracy Martin, Foster Parent Trainer
Tracy joins the Georgia Kinship team with a great deal of experience in foster care and social services. She earned a Bachelors of Sociology from Albany State University. She also earned a graduate degree from Ambridge University in Management/Leadership. She is a proud mother of three sons, Kaleb, Jarvis, and Julius. She is a advocate for special needs children and an amazing asset to the team.
